I use the training grounds already - the idea with golems is just to give them a bit of live action instead of having to punch on a dummy or each other all day long. ini file for settings, but not all games save settings in files that are easily re-written using word programs.) (Thought a computer savvy person often can just find the. Steam also has a habit of saving your settings files when you delete a game, which can be a pain in the butt if you screwed up your settings somehow and end up in that annoying cycle of a game refusing to boot because a setting you selected isn't supported on your computer, thus crashing everytime before you get a chance to see the settings in-game. However they might still affect the game negatively. ![]() (which Steam graciously helps improve our ability to do so) Sometimes the unintaller updates, and old files that are causing the problem, are not removed properly, as they technically no longer exist according to the program. This especially gets finnicky when you have programs that update. Steam often leaves some files behind (typically ignores saves as well, but not always), or folder paths. Yeah a general Steam Tip, and actually, when using any uninstaller program, they do not always, and often do not, delete every file or folder. I suggest anyone else having these kinds of issues just post a +1 to this discussion. ![]() Developer may need to look into how imported military settings are affecting the use of training grounds. ![]() I am wondering if the training BUG lies in the importing of military settings from a previous game, and that breaks the priority to training in that game. The one thing that I've kept consistant is the military settings (formations, positions, uniforms, etc.) imported from an older game (still v0.9.10) where the military behaved as normal, with no issues. Created new military squads, formations, positions Everyone fights in my kingdoms, civilians training 8 hours daily (one slot in the training grounds) and soldiers full time. Assigned fresh "gnomad" arrivals to the military Exit the map to the main menu, then loaded the map Things I've done in an attempt to troubleshoot this issue (to no avail) are as follows: Ive tested it in the 3 most recent builds, including starting a seperate town with all armor skills set to 25 to be able to observe any change at all (3 game years in, not a single gnome changed armor from 25 at all, although all other combat skills changed significantly). Jobs or no jobs, the gnomes will NOT train, let alone approach the training yard. I have a 'job' assigned to them that is void of all work, called 'soldier', and even then they'll not prioritize training. Also their fitness, fighting etc.For the third game in a row since v0.9.10 dropped, I CANNOT get any gnomes training in the training yard. You can put a well fed well dormed squad on all three time slots in a training ground and they will stay all day - every day for most of the season and their skill levels in whatever weapons they have will rocket. This works really well with training a squad in the Winter. I go to options and prioritise better food at longer distance on the slider and once I have a provisioner with a cooking skill of over 50 your Gnomes are much more efficient. Not sure if this is meant to change at some point, but it does seem to be a bit if an oversight. The best food and drink will keep a Gnome not needing to run back to get more fort almost a WHOLE SEASON - this might add another 40% to efficiency depending on your layout and how far any particular Gnome is from food. To build a training ground requires 2 training dummies, but gnomes can only train there if they have a partner to spar against - which implies that the dummies aren't being used at all. So totally missing out every other sleep cycle and getting 33% more done.Ĭouple this with better food and drink which means fewer trips to the kitchen or food stores. With a room worth 1000+ they will stay up (looking at my experiment) about 36 hours. Early on your Gnomes sleep on the floor and 12 hours is about their maximum "up" time. Room value plays a big role in the amount of time a Gnome will stay awake and happy. ![]()
